If you are a Christian think about the first moments when you were saved, and to the feeling of the Holy Spirit flowing through your body. The fire for Him could not be detained, burning wild with passion. Now, think about the “worse” sin you committed, how the joy of the fire burned low, how the guilt consumed the fire smothering it to near distinction. God made us to always have a passionate fire of love for Him, but he did not make us perfect so we will fall and rise in this cycle.
This cycle has been playfully explained to me as the fire cycle, similar to the water cycle. The fire has never and will never die out, unless you die without salvation. This cycle is unavoidable, but we can influence it in the fact how fired we are, and when our fire does dwindle how fast we rekindle the passion. We control are own light we determine how bright it shines. Like a real fire the bigger the fire the harder it is to maintain, but the more light and warmth it produces. That might be were the similarities end, with your fire it can never grow too big, the bigger it is the safer you are, the better it is for you. All the out side influences in earth and hell can not put out your fire. Outside influences can only deceive your hand to smother your own fire, but with Christ’s help your fire can thrive even in the depths of the ocean, in the midst of a Hurricane caused flood, in any circumstance the devil my sling your way.
The workings of evil will be on there toes when your illuminating great light, for evil is crippled in the light of God. So although it might sometimes feel like you are a bull’s eye for the Devil’s darts form hell (from Trevor’s blog you should read it) you are also calling on allies of Christ, and if you are so blessed, recruiting new Salvation SOULders, by doing your life’s mission of living a God filled life. Be not afraid to spread the joy and love of God. [He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.] 2 Thessalonians 2:14
